Hear how far each student has come.
Pieceline keeps dated recordings of every student's pieces on one timeline. Add your comments, send parents a link, and at the end of the year play the first recording of a piece next to the latest.

How one piece reads on a student's timeline (an example):
Why
Progress on an instrument or with a voice happens a little each week, which is too slowly for anyone to notice. Students feel stuck, and parents who pay for lessons hear the same piece through a closed door. Without a recording from before, there is nothing to compare now with.
Pieceline keeps the before. Every recording is dated and filed under the student and the piece, so "after" always has something to stand next to.
What it does
Recording uploads
Record at the lesson on a phone, or upload a file later — audio or video, up to 250 MB. Each one is dated, so a recording made in March stays in March.
A timeline per student
Every recording of every piece, in the order it was played, grouped by month. Filter to one piece to hear it change.
Your comments
Write what you heard under each recording: what improved, what to work on next. The note stays with the playing it is about.
A link for parents
Turn on a private link for a student and send it home. Parents listen and read your comments without an account. Turn it off, or replace it, at any time.
The end-of-year highlight list
Star the recordings worth keeping. At the end of the year, Pieceline lists them, and sets the first recording of each piece beside the latest.
How it works
- Add a student, and the pieces they are working on.
- Record a run-through at the lesson and upload it from your phone, or from a laptop later. Pick the piece and the date.
- Write a comment on it, and star it if it is a highlight.
- Turn on the parent link and send it home. It always shows the latest.
- At the end of the year, open the highlight list: every starred recording, and each piece then and now.
Who it is for
Instrument and voice teachers who teach the same students for years — privately, in a music school, or in a studio — and want those years to be audible.
Recordings are private to you. A parent sees one student's timeline, and only through the link you choose to send. Pieceline does not schedule lessons or take payments for them.
